Sydney University & Sorbonne Université vitual workshops on Materials ScienceOne week, one theme : Energy, Biomaterials, Catalysis, Optics

David McKenzie

Professor of Materials Physics, School of Physics, University of Sydney

David McKenzie is Professor of Materials Physics, School of Physics at the University of Sydney. He is Member of the Applied and Plasma Physics research group and the Charles Perkins Centre. His research interests lie in areas that include materials physics, plasma deposition and processing, thin film materials, vacuum glazing, renewable and sustainable energy and cross-disciplinary research in the areas of biointerfaces and interactions of biosystems for medicine

Mathieu Salanne

Professor at PHENIX Laboratory, Sorbonne University

Mathieu Salanne is a Professor at PHENIX, Sorbonne University. His research focuses on the modelling of ionic materials for energy production and storage. He graduated in chemical engineering from Chimie ParisTech and obtained his PhD in 2006 at Sorbonne University. He develops methods for the realistic molecular simulation of solid and liquid electrolytes in situations of relevance to electrochemistry, in the framework of an ERC consolidator grant (project AMPERE). He is a member of the Editorial Advisory Board of the Journal of Chemical Physics and of the Scientific Steering committee of PRACE (Partnership for Advanced Computing in Europe, funded by the EU)
